Jade Dust, Grey Skies 12” LP

Info

We have all lost something over the past four years. On Grey Skies, Jade Dust’s follow up to 2022’s Wild Geese, we hear the Portland band dealing with the physical, emotional, and political losses that have piled up since the pandemic changed the world. Musically, Jade Dust has refined its sound—adding a dose of Naked Raygun to its Sarah Kirsch-inspired, Revolution Summer-drenched style.

Lyrically, this record is a meditation on missed opportunities in the political arena and unfortunate realizations in the interpersonal space. It carries on a complex, uncomfortable conversation with the listener and in doing so, it’s an honest reflection of our time. Eight songs, two classic covers and some terrific artwork: This is a joint release with Council Records and Extinction Burst, and it’s limited to 500 copies overall.
